AE News and Views

Here’s a quick catch up with the goings on in the Office and the publishing news that caught our eyes over the past little while…

It’s been an exciting few weeks for the publishing world especially with the release of Harper Lee’s  Go Set A Watchman. There’s a bit of reluctance from those here at AE  to pick it up in fear of it  tainting what We love about To Kill a Mockingbird and from what is being said We are not alone in that opinion. That however does not stop the book storming the charts, but for now We’re  leaving Scout as the little girl We remember and leaving this publication alone. Have you or are you planning to read G.S.A.W or are you too steering clear?

A huge congratulations to Colm Tóibín on scooping the Hawthornden Literature Prize for his novel Nora Webster, a story about a young widow set in 1960s Ireland. Also in related news , a  movie based on his previous novel Brooklyn is due for release in  November starring Saorise Ronan and Domhnall Gleeson.

On the AE side of things…

Gloria_CoverAs you may have already heard if you follow us on Facebook and Twitter,  we recently discovered some treasure in the AE office in the form of  copies of the super popular Gloria.  These were previously thought to be out of print so there is very limited stock available. When we say limited stock we mean limited stock so get them while you can!

We have been coming up with some seriously exciting projects for AE  over  countless meetings consisting of copious amounts of tea and coffee (We’re not admitting to the cakes!) . These will all be revealed in time but  so watch this space!

Don’t forget to follow us on  TwitterFacebook  for  more updates , competitions and general musings on all things literary.

Until next time, happy reading fellow Bookworms and enjoy the long weekend!
